Dawn Silva - The Original Bride Of Funkenstein

T-Mad's Music was graced by a visit back in April, 2000 from none other than Dawn Silva, original lead vocalist for the P-Funk group Brides Of Funkenstein.

Never Buy Texas From A Cowboy

Ms. Silva has a solo CD out called All My Funky Friends, which features appearances from various P-Funk alumni.  I got my advanced copy in the mail with a Dawn Silva Fan Package and I have to tell you - the CD is The Bomb!  It is seriously funky, combining old school funk with new school so that it appeals to both old school P-Funkateers and today's listeners.

Go buy this CD if you know what's good for you!

I was given permission from Ms. Silva herself, via e-mail, to play one of the songs from her new CD here at T-Mad's Music.  Here's a slamming funk track from the CD done Zapp/Roger-style called Shake It Down.  If you don't feel the funk on this one, then you've obviously been infected with the Placebo Syndrome and need a dose of Funkentelechy to wake you back up again.

In the meantime, you can check out Dawn Silva's official web page which has sound samples from the CD.   The CD is also available exclusively at Muggbone.com as well.

Oh, just so you don't think I'm pulling your leg about her having visited T-Mad's Music, here's a scanned copy of a personally handwritten letter from Dawn Silva herself to me which I currently have framed at my house.
